We all want to be the guy who comes to the gym, and bench presses a huge amount of weight. We all secretly want to be the guy who comes into the gym and bench presses a huge amount of weight. Nobody cares how much deadlift or curl you can do. The bench press is what everyone wants to see. This article will give you some great tips to improve your bench press immediately.
You can’t dream yourself into character. You have to forge your own character. Henry David Thoreau
Habits are the key to fitness. Fitness is about habits. It’s what we do every day, no matter how we feel or what we are doing. It’s a part of everyday life, just like brushing our teeth.
No matter what, we all have our basic habits. Even if today was our last day, we would still do many of these things. This could even make us more motivated to do them, as we’d want to make the most of our final hours. This may not apply to everything we do but certainly for brushing our teeth.
Settle Down.
There are many ways to relax both your mind and body. Meditation is the most effective method. Meditation is a way to calm down your thoughts and slow them down. You will be trying to disconnect from the outside world. This is done to calm down your mind and control your emotions. In this state, it’s possible to create a great mind-muscle connection. This will help you focus on your workout, and your body will be in a better state to lift heavier weights.
Fitness is not something that everyone feels the same way about. For many, fitness is an extra burden that we must carry because others expect it of us. It is especially true if you have been told that you need to lose weight to avoid diabetes or if your spouse has threatened to divorce. This may be the case if you are trying to find a job, and believe that your weight is the main reason for being rejected.
It will be hard to concentrate on the fun of fitness, how it makes us look and feel. They are the same as the feeling of cleanliness after using an electronic toothbrush for two minutes or the dazzling whiteness you see in the mirror. We would all never think of missing out on these experiences at least twice a week. We would never dream of missing it on our last day or worse, exposing anyone else to the same.
Try different variations.
To make progress, it is important to vary your workouts. You can switch to incline bench press if you have been doing flat bench presses for a while. Drop sets and supersets are also great ways to increase your bench press strength. You can also get better results by trying out different grips.
We did not get this way by accident. We did not become that way just because we began a regular oral hygiene routine on January 1st. We have been brushing teeth since we were little. We were introduced to it by our parents, but we then decided to upgrade. We have upgraded from regular toothpaste to one that has a whitener or a standard toothbrush to a rechargeable. We are all proud to have surpassed our parents in most cases.
Unfortunately, we all had different experiences when it came to fitness. That is because we were raised by sedentary, three square meal per day, supplement-deprecating good people who knew very little other than a good day’s work followed by a good night’s rest. Consequently, today we know very little about modern day gluten-free eating, effective supplementing and daily aerobic/resistance-based working out. These things weren’t around when we were young. We would have been completely different people if they were around and our parents had taken them seriously.
Use the Strict Form.
We all have dreams, hopes and good intentions. Few of us are able to follow through. We haven’t made fitness a priority in our lives as much as we should. It is not as important as brushing our teeth. We don’t feel horrified at the idea of not working out, forgetting supplements, or substituting real food with low-fat, low-sugar alternatives. We say that forgetting or missing these essential fitness items is part of the human condition. Missing our morning toothbrush date is almost unimaginable.
How can we improve our fitness from where we are now with the way we brush our teeth? Thoreau said we must do more than just dream. He said we must forge our characters, like iron that is pounded with a hammer. This is what he had done to himself. He was a thinker who walked, meditated, reflected, and philosophized every day, in every season, year after year. He was doing what he loved and was unlikely to have even been tempted by anything else. This led to the birth of one of the greatest thinkers in our history.
What prompted him to make the statement he made in the above quote? It is a shockingly direct statement, if it’s not an outright criticism, from the mild Walden Pond man. He probably saw too many people who said they wanted to act a certain way but never did the right thing to achieve it. This is something we have all been through. We want to tell them, just like Thoreau did, to keep doing it until they become the person they want to be.
Most people make a fatal mistake in the gym when they try to improve their bench press. They compromise the proper form. It is understandable that everyone wants to increase their bench press, but this should not come at the expense of proper form. This can cause serious injuries which will prevent you from lifting heavier weights or even touching them. When you want to lift heavier weights, it is important to have a partner.
